One Step Closer to Launch: Rocket Delivery

Lockheed Martin delivering the Atlas V rocket to Cape Canaveral in July of 2005. After going through a series of tests to ensure its readiness to send Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to the red planet, lift-off occurred on August 12, 2005.

Lockheed Martin just delivered the Atlas V rocket to Cape Canaveral! The rocket will now go through a series of tests to ensure its ready to send Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to the red planet. Lift-off is expected on August 10, 2005.
