Partners
Strategic Partnerships with Academic Institutions, Private Industry, and other NASA Centers
Cross-institutional partnerships bring a wealth of benefits that are crucial to establishing a thriving, self-sustaining community of practice. Some of the proposed joint activities include:
- Cross-cutting Research: Data science techniques and approaches that are shown to be useful for physical science advancement benefit from multi-center investment and skill sharing and inform the data science community on where to grow skill and recruit talent.
- Shared Use-cases: Documented physical science challenges with analysis-ready datasets provide valuable remote sensing learning opportunities for academic students, help prioritize the need for improved data science approaches, and enable practical skill sharing across institutions.
- Standards & Best Practices: Forming community standards and a common language improve the quality of proposal review and inform hiring and skill development programs.
- Large-scale Joint Proposals: Working together to produce multi-center proposals draws from each partner’s strengths and opens access to a wider range of funding opportunities.
- Communications with HQ: Together we can coordinate a more skillful response for qualified reviewers and requests for information from NASA headquarters, to help inform both ROSES opportunities and robust review.
