Brian Corcoran
Director for Lab Operations
Brian J. Corcoran is an accomplished finance and operations leader with over 25 years of experience leading cross-functional teams across higher education, government, and aerospace sectors. Prior to this appointment, Brian served as the Assistant Director for Finance in the Laboratory Operations Integration Directorate working to align financial strategy with operational capabilities, overseeing critical functions including financial planning and analysis, enterprise business systems, contract management, acquisitions, facilities, logistics, and protective services.
Brian joined JPL in 2010 as a member of the Payroll, Labor, and Cost Accounting Section. Since then, he has held several key leadership positions, including serving as the JPL Controller and Manager for the Financial Planning Office. He has been a Group Supervisor, Section Manager and Division Manager. He has led enterprise-wide transformations in financial forecasting, reporting, and business process modernization, all while fostering high-performing, inclusive teams. His experience spans compliance with complex regulatory frameworks, large-scale organizational planning, and stakeholder engagement at the highest levels.
He holds an MBA from Cal Poly Pomona and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
