United Technologies Inc. Negotiating for Defense Contract

Norden Systems Division of United Technologies Inc. has been selected for negotiation of contract to provide ruggedized computers for Department of Defense program managed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Norden Systems Division of United Technologies Inc. has been selected for negotiation of contract to provide ruggedized computers for Department of Defense program managed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The Norwalk, Conn.-based company will provide the computers for the All-Source Analysis System/Enemy Situation Correlation Element (ASAS/ENSCE) project.

This cooperative effort of the Army and the Air Force is sponsored by DOD's Joint Tactical Fusion Program Management Office of McLean, Va. The mission of ASAS/ENSCE is to provide the capability for intelligence data processing in the field.

The computers to be provided under this contract are ruggedized versions of Digital Equipment Corp. VAX 11/730 and 11/750 models in various combinations. They will be used in both field shelters and workstations.
