Slice of History - Santa in the Constellations
Conceived as a cover by JPLer Gene Breeskin, the December 1964 issue of Lab-Oratory was illustrated by David B. Willoughby of the JPL Reports group. According to the issue, “[t]his month’s…holiday cover depicts the many constellations with the mythological characters assigned to them by the ancient Greeks. The sky-map (without the figures) is a true representation of the major stars and constellations designed for use by aerospace navigators.” Santa’s sleigh is being pulled by Pegasus and Cetus into the new year!
Wishing everyone in the JPL community happy holidays and a great new year! CL#22-6275
