Louise Hamlin holds a master’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Her career at JPL has included systems engineering, instrument development and instrument project management. Her current focus is on commercial partnerships and technology transfer at JPL.

Commercial Programs
As part of its mission, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is tasked with developing “partnerships with industry that enhance the value and contribution of the technology” developed at the Laboratory, as well as “strengthen the nation's technological competitiveness and prosperity, increase the quality of life on this planet and add to the foundation of many other national priorities.” Towards this end, the Commercial Program Office is responsible for all Industry sponsored research and development projects at JPL, as well as technology transfer to Industry.
