About

Bio

Seho Kim is a postdoctoral fellow in the Planetary Radar and Radio Sciences Group (332K). He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic and Information Engineering from Korea Aerospace University, South Korea, where he served as a team lead on a CubeSat mission. In August 2023, he completed his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. His research centered on developing models and tools for Signals of Opportunity (SoOp) reflectometry. He was honored with the Ross Fellowship in 2018 and the Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) award in 2021.

Currently, Seho is actively involved in research focused on the bistatic radar, radio occultation, and gravity science for the study of planetary atmospheres, interiors, and surfaces.

Education

  • PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics, Purdue University, 2023
  • MS in Electronic and Information Engineering, Korea Aerospace University, 2018
  • BS in Electronics and Avionics Engineering, Korea Aerospace University, 2016

Research Interests

His research interests include multistatic radar, remote sensing using GNSS and Signals of Opportunity (SoOp), gravity science, radio occultation, space mission design and analysis, space systems engineering, and observing system simulation experiments. Application areas include agriculture, hydrology, oceanography, natural hazards, atmospheric science, planetary science, and deep space exploration.
