Dr. Lee K Johnson
Technologist
About
Education
Ph.D. Rice University, Atomic Physics, 1987
B.S. Harvey Mudd College, Physics, 1982
Research Interests
Atomic collision, optical, and plasma physics generally applied to plasma devices including Hall and similar crossed-field devices, also including ion thrusters and micro-field-emitter thrusters of various types. Energetic ion encounters with surfaces including laboratory and planetary, sputtering, signatures. Optical observations and spectroscopy of thrusters. Laboratory and flight diagnostic subsystems, experiment and instrument design, operation of instruments and analysis of instrument data to inform future integration of Hall thrusters.
