About

Bio

Vatsal Jhalani received his PhD from California Institute of Technology working with advisor Marco Bernardi, where his research focused on the application and development of ab initio computational methods to study light emission, carrier transport, and ultrafast dynamics in solid-state lighting materials. He is currently a Data Scientist in the Science Data Modeling and Computing group.

Research Interests

Numerical modeling and simulation, semiconductor/solid-state physics and materials modeling and theory, ab initio methods and simulation (Density functional theory, many-body perturbation theory/GW-BSE, Boltzmann transport equation, electron-phonon interactions)
