Bio
Dr. Håvard Grip is a Principal Engineer and Robotics Technologist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was the Chief Pilot for NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter as it achieved the first powered flight on another planet, and he led the development of Ingenuity's Aerodynamics & Flight Control system. He has served as Manager and Chief Engineer of multiple Mars rotorcraft development projects, and he has contributed to guidance, navigation, and control for spaceflight projects including Psyche and Mars Sample Return.
Dr. Grip's expertise spans modeling & simulation; guidance, navigation & control; flight software development; design, testing, V&V, and operations of planetary aerial vehicles; and technical leadership of complex development projects.
