Our Vision, Office of Research and Development (ORD)

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Office of Research and Development (ORD) strives to

  • Foster a creative research environment that rewards innovation and excellence in research, while adhering to the highest ethical standards of science.
  • Shepherd the formulation and integration of strategic directions for internal research and development
  • Serve as the focal point for collaborations with the external research community and partnerships with universities across the country
  • Mentor postdoctoral fellows in the development of their careers, consistent with NASA and Caltech’s commitment towards educating the next generation of researchers
