Station Positions

The position times series plots represent the motions of the JTRF2020 stations as computed by SREF.

The following color codes have been adopted to distinguish all of the data types potentially present in the time series:

Dotted Lines

• (BLUE) dots denote ‘Hindcasts’, i.e. estimates of the positions computed before the station started to observe;
• (ORANGE) dots denotes ‘Forecasts’, i.e. estimates of the positions computed after the station ceased to observe;
• (RED) dots mark the observations flagged as outliers during the data editing;
• (YELLOW) dots denote across-observations interpolated values;
• (OFF-WHITE) dots denote smoothed observations used to define the frame;

Solid Vertical Lines

• (DARK GREEN) vertical lines mark station position discontinuities introduced in the data assimilation.

Shaded Areas

• (BLUE) shaded areas are used to visually identify the “hindcast” time interval.
• (ORANGE) shaded areas are used to visually identify the “forecast” time interval
