Fred C. McNutt has been appointed as the chief financial officer of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., JPL Director Dr. Edward C. Stone announced today.
As chief financial officer, McNutt will have responsibility for overall fiscal operations of JPL including finance, the controller's office, acquisition and management of the prime contract under which JPL is operated for NASA by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
McNutt received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and has more than 25 years financial experience encompassing budgetary control, governmental compliance, financial planning, payroll and accounting. His most recent position was as the vice president and controller for a division of the Raytheon Corporation. Earlier, he served as corporate vice president and controller for Hughes Aircraft Company.
