The asteroid footprints are harder to see against this swirling nebula, called the Tadpole, located 12,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Auriga (view in full screen mode for best view). Astronomers use asteroid tracklets to calculate the objects' orbits around our sun. Those red dots are actually dusty stars. Streaks from satellites can also be seen.
