Cassini Spacecraft Marks 3 Years at Ringed World
the moon Pan amid Saturn's rings Pan's Progress
Saturn's little moon Pan sweeps through an opening in the rings, called the Encke Gap, in this natural color view. As the lemon-shaped moon orbits the planet, it always keeps its long axis pointed along a line toward Saturn.

The moon is 26 kilometers (16 miles) across, the gap is 325 kilometers (200 miles) wide.
