Two Coronal Holes
A pair of substantial coronal holes were the most notable features on the Sun over the past week (Mar. 28 - Apr. 2, 2015). These are magnetically open areas out of which solar wind streams. This stream of solar wind from the elongated coronal hole (which has been facing towards Earth) should be reaching Earth about Apr. 2 - 3 and will likely trigger aurora in the northern latitudes. The images were taken in a wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light.
