OPERA Code Repositories and Resources

The OPERA Project is dedicated to open source development, and all of our code is kept in open source repositories within GitHub. The repositories for each of the 4 main teams within the OPERA project can be found via the links below.

JPL Algorithm Development Team (ADT)

https://github.com/opera-adt
The JPL Algorithm Development Team is responsible for creating the underlying algorithms for generating the DSWx Product Suite, the RTC Product, the CSLC Product Suite, and DISP Product Suite (product page coming soon).

Main repositories for each algorithm:

  • DSWx-HLS: https://github.com/nasa/PROTEUS
  • DSWx-S1: https://github.com/opera-adt/DSWX-SAR
  • DSWx-NI: (coming soon)
  • RTC-S1: https://github.com/opera-adt/RTC
  • CSLC-S1: https://github.com/opera-adt/COMPASS
  • CSLC-NI: (coming soon)
  • DISP-S1: https://github.com/opera-adt/dolphin
  • DISP-NI (coming soon)

JPL Science Data System (SDS)

https://github.com/orgs/nasa/repositories?q=opera-sds
The Science Data System team at JPL is responsible for the code and infrastructure to run the algorithms from the JPL ADT, and generate the corresponding data products.

Main repositories for the SDS subsystems:

  • Process Control & Management (PCM): https://github.com/nasa/opera-sds-pcm
  • Product Generation Executables (PGE): https://github.com/nasa/opera-sds-pge

UMD-GLAD Algorithm and Production System

https://github.com/gladumd/
The team at the University of Maryland’s Global Land Analysis & Discovery laboratory (UMD-GLAD) created the algorithm behind the DIST Product Suite, as well as the code and infrastructure for the production system that generates the products daily.

Main repository for the DIST algorithm:

  • DIST-HLS: https://github.com/gladumd/OPERA_DIST

OPERA Project Science Team

https://github.com/OPERA-Cal-Val
OPERA’s Project Science Team is responsible for validating the algorithms and data products to ensure they meet project’s product quality and accuracy requirements, and satisfy the needs of the user community. The Project Science Team also provides repositories to facilitate applications.

Main repositories for product validation:

  • DSWx-HLS:
    • https://github.com/OPERA-Cal-Val/DSWx-HLS-Requirement-Verification
  • DIST-HLS: (coming soon)
  • CSLC-S1: https://github.com/OPERA-Cal-Val/calval-CSLC
  • RTC-S1: https://github.com/OPERA-Cal-Val/calval-RTC

Product application repositories

  • OPERA Product Applications:
    https://github.com/OPERA-Cal-Val/OPERA_Applications
  • OPERA ArcGIS Toolbox:

PO.DAAC

https://podaac.github.io/tutorials/quarto_text/OPERA.html
The Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC), which hosts the DSWx product suite, has developed data resources and tutorials to help improve access and use of the DSWx products.

Main repositories for OPERA on PO.DAAC:

  • DSWx-HLS:
    • https://podaac.github.io/tutorials/notebooks/datasets/OPERA_GIS_Notebook.html
