Fourth OPERA Stakeholder Engagement Workshop
OPERA will host a 6-hour (9 am – 3 pm) hybrid (online + in person) workshop on Friday, Jul. 19, 2024 at the Liberty Station Conference Center (to be confirmed), San Diego, CA, immediately following the annual ESRI User Conference (Jul. 15-19, 2024) in San Diego.
Participation is open to US federal agencies, contractors, and academic researchers. We will provide limited travel grants to U.S. university/college students affiliated with federal agencies to encourage their participation in the workshop. In this OPERA workshop, we report in oral and poster presentations the following:
- Updates of OPERA data products that are in production:
- Near-global Dynamic Surface Water eXtent from Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (DSWx-HLS)
- Near-global Surface Disturbance from Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (DIST-HLS)
- Near-global Radiometric Terrain Corrected SAR Backscatter from Sentinel-1 (RTC-S1)
- North America Coregistered Single-Look Complex from Sentinel-1 (CSLC-S1)
- Preliminary validation of OPERA data products that are near-production:
- Near-global Dynamic Surface Water eXtent from Sentinel-1 (DSWx-S1)
- North America Surface Displacement from Sentinel-1 (DISP-S1)
- Overview of upcoming OPERA products that will be released in 2025:
- Near-global Dynamic Surface Water eXtent from NISAR (DSWx-NI) , starting production in June 2025.
- North America Surface Displacement from NISAR (DISP-NI), starting production in July 2025.
We will also offer opportunities for end-users to present their use (or plans to use) of OPERA products in the form of posters and oral presentations.
- Poster sessions are for in-person attendees.
Oral presentations are for federal agency stakeholders who are using OPERA products. Please let us know if you are interested in presenting your work by contacting the OPERA team (opera.sep@jpl.nasa.gov).
In addition, we offer technical guidance and expert consultations to our valued federal agency end-users in using OPERA data products to address their analysis and observation needs and ensure integration into decision making. We aim to hold these consultations prior to the fourth workshop. Federal agency end-users who are interested in this offer are encouraged to contact the OPERA team (opera.sep@jpl.nasa.gov).
