The Dawn Mission to the Asteroid Belt: Coming This Summer to a Solar System Near You |
Summary : |
|
NASA's next venture into the solar system is the Dawn mission, planned for launch in June 2007. The spacecraft will orbit Ceres and Vesta, the two most massive residents of the asteroid belt and among the last unexplored worlds in the inner solar system.
Remnants from the time planets formed, Ceres and Vesta hold clues that will help scientists understand the dawn of the solar system.
