When:

Saturday, September 14, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PDT (1 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT)

Where:

Von Karman Auditorium, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California

Target Audience:

Educators for grades 2-12

Overview:

This in-person workshop for educators will take place at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and will highlight NASA's ASTHROS mission. ASTHROS is a long-duration, high altitude balloon designed to provide new information about stellar feedback in the Milky Way and other galaxies, a process in which stars either accelerate or decelerate the formation of new stars in their galaxy. We will hear from Jose Siles, project manager for the mission, and learn how you can incorporate the science and engineering of this mission into your classroom with NGSS-aligned lessons. Plus, learn how your students will have the opportunity to be a part of virtual launch activities happening from Antarctica!

Educators can register by filling out the form below. Note that if you've already registered through the AAA STEM Program, you do not need to register again here.
