South Australia, Australia
The light corner of the image is Lake Torrens, an ephemeral salt lake in South Australia. The twisted strata visible here is part of a rocky desert area in the Australian Outback. The black line that runs along one side of the image is a railroad that borders the mountains of the Flinders Ranges. This image was taken from the Space Shuttle on February 15, 2000. <!--Image, geographic, and position and camera information can be viewed on the ISS EarthKAM meta data page.--> Photojournal note: EarthKAM was formerly known as KidSat.
