Missions to Uranus:
(Unless otherwise noted, JPL manages the following missions for NASA.)

Past:
Voyager Project Voyager Project
   The twin spacecraft Voyager 1 and 2 flew by and observed Jupiter and Saturn. While Voyager 1 began a mission to explore interstellar space, Voyager 2 continued on to Uranus and Neptune before heading off on its own interstellar mission. Both craft are now heading out of the solar system
Voyager 2 Launch:  August 20, 1977
Closest Approach:  Jan. 24, 1986
