JPL INVITES WOMEN IN TECHNICAL FIELDS TO BREAKFAST MEETINGS
No-host breakfast roundtables for women in technical fields
will be held at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Tuesday, July
23, and Friday, August 16, to acquaint businesswomen with JPL’s
technology transfer programs.
The roundtables are designed to discuss opportunities for
local businesswomen to license JPL’s technology through a variety
of programs and to meet some of JPL’s staff.
"JPL has a goal of including more women-owned businesses in
our technology transfer efforts," said Joan Horvath, organizer of
the meetings. "To accomplish this goal, we are trying to
establish JPL as a good place for female entrepreneurs with
technology businesses to network and make business contacts."
The roundtables are free, other than the optional breakfast
purchase, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Check-in is from 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. each of the meeting days. An
area in one of JPL’s cafeterias will be set aside for networking
until 9 a.m.
Registration forms are available at the Web site
http://www-techtrans.jpl.nasa.gov/events.html. They may be faxed
back to Joan Horvath at (818) 393-1366, or sent by e-mail to
joan.c.horvath@jpl.nasa.gov.
