Kepler with distant solar system

NASA's new planet-hunting Kepler space telescope has detected the atmosphere of a known giant gas planet, demonstrating the telescope's extraordinary scientific capabilities. The discovery was announced Thursday in a paper published by the journal Science. The development of the Kepler mission was managed by JPL.
