Cross-Track Winds for Hurricane Ida
On November 8, 2009, JPL's Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer instrument on NASA's Terra satellite passed over Hurricane Ida while it was situated between western Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula. Instrument data were used to determine the heights of the clouds near the hurricane’s eye (superimposed over the right-hand image).
