If you've got 3D glasses, go get them! This is a 3D image of the sun that helps scientists study how energy moves from the sun to Earth. The sun's heat and energy warm the Earth. Big storms on the sun can also shoot off particles that travel through space. Sometimes the particles from these storms disrupt communications and other things here on Earth. The sun looks pink because the NASA spacecraft used ultraviolet light to study activity on the sun.
The Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory, or STEREO, took this image.
