Eagle Nebula
This is a famous picture taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope of the Eagle nebula. A nebula is an interstellar cloud of gas and dust. Stars often form in nebulae.
In this image, the gas and dust "tendrils" contain newborn stars. The towers, filled with gas and dust, are where young stars are forming and growing as they accumulate more mass from their surroundings.
