'Pancake' Domes on Venus
Don't grab the syrup just yet. These round features are volcanic domes, or pancake domes. They have broad, flat tops. These domes are about one-half mile high and almost 40 miles in diameter. The cracks and pits are formed by the cooling or stretching of lava.
