Dale M. Johnson
Associate Director, Chief Financial Officer,
and Director, Business Operations
Dale M. Johnson joined JPL as chief financial officer and director for business operations in November 2004, and was named associate director of the laboratory in March 2006. The Business Operations Directorate has management and leadership responsibility for accounting, finance, institutional business systems, contracts management, project resources management, acquisition, logistics, technical information, facilities and protective services. Johnson chairs the JPL Business Management Council, a standing Laboratory committee that provides policy guidance and management overview of all institutional and business activities. He is currently a member of the National Management Association.
He earned his bachelor's degree from California State University , Northridge, and his MBA degree from Pepperdine University . He joined Lockheed California Co. in Burbank in 1980 and held a series of managerial positions of increasing responsibility with Lockheed corporate and subsidiary companies. Most recently, Johnson was deputy to the vice president of business management integration at the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., and was responsible for business management of major aeronautical programs.
