Victoria Stratman
Victoria Stratman became the California Institute of Technology's general counsel on December 1, 2009. Stratman joined the staff in Caltech's Office of the General Counsel in 1996 as associate general counsel, and has served as deputy general counsel since 1998. Stratman came to Caltech from O'Melveny & Myers, where she was a litigation partner specializing in labor and employment law. While at O'Melveny & Myers, she provided legal and management advice to executives at educational institutions, government contractors, financial and investment institutions, aerospace companies, manufacturers, high-tech corporations, retail operations, and airlines. She is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice in all California federal district courts; the Ninth, Seventh, and Tenth Circuits; and the U. S. Supreme Court. She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the American Corporate Counsel Association. Stratman received her juris doctorate with high distinction from the University of Iowa, where she was a member of Order of the Coif. She received her Bachelor of Arts in zoology from the University of Missouri.
